It’s not a halfway mark
Where the end is within sight
It’s not the point where we decide
That the might of quarrel’s blight
Has diseased love’s light
It’s not a reason to stop and think
Of the whys and wherefores
Of the grating on our nerves
It’s not the season to say the things
That bring cries uncalled for
It’s the time to extinguish blemishes
By the brilliance of our unity
It’s the time to begin counting kisses
Of tender days
Moments of fulfillments
Where we let flow our prayers for each other
It’s the time we let go of clenched fists
And hold back poisoned tongues
It’s the time we smile and celebrate
Where we rejoice with embraces
And revel in the thought that our journey has brought us here.
